Since donkeys learn so much through watching and imitating other donkeys, I have a theory that abandoned donkey foals may be the result of the mother donkey having been hand raised or bottle fed. If you have experienced an abandoned foal and had to hand raise a new born, I would appreciate you sharing your experience and also commenting on whether or not the mother was hand raised. There is so little information on hand raising foals, hopefully it will help others to know what you experienced.
